2.1.4.1.2. Defending Screens: Off-Ball
(1) Q: What is an off-ball screen?
A: An off-ball screen is any screen that is set for an offensive player who does not have the ball. There are many different types of off-ball screens, but for now we will focus on the basic principles of defending the majority of them.
(2) Q: How do we defend off-ball screens?
A: In basic terms, the defense can either switch or not switch (stay) on off-ball screens. We will review each situation in the next sections.
